Security policy
This is a Security Options policy (Windows Settings > Security Settings), applied by the security engine — not an Administrative Template (ADMX). In GPMC/gpedit it is configured under Local Policies > Security Options.

This setting enables Admin Approval Mode and the related User Account Control policies. It is enabled by default on Windows clients, and changing it requires a restart. Disabling it removes UAC protections and application virtualization, substantially weakening the separation between standard and elevated activity.
