Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

The data comes from the official ADMX and ADML files for the 12 sources listed by GPORais, with the indexed versions displayed on the site. A build pipeline parses and normalizes those files; see the Sources page for the detailed inventory and method.

How do I deploy a setting found here?

Configure it in GPMC or gpedit by following the console path shown on its page, or use the page’s .reg, PowerShell or Intune export. A .reg export reproduces registry values but is not a managed GPO, so validate the method before production deployment.

What is a “Security policy” on GPORais?

It is a Windows Security Options setting, not an ADMX Administrative Template policy. These settings are applied by the Windows security engine and carry a dedicated badge so that their deployment model is clear.

Can I search by registry key?

Yes. Enter a full registry path or a value name in search; GPORais also queries its dedicated registry index to surface matching settings.
