Ce paramètre de stratégie indique si Windows recherche les pilotes de périphériques sur Windows Update lorsqu’aucun pilote local n’est présent. Si vous activez ce paramètre de stratégie, aucune recherche sur Windows Update n’a lieu lors de l’installation d’un nouveau périphérique. Si vous désactivez ce paramètre de stratégie, le pilote est toujours recherché sur Windows Update lorsqu’aucun pilote local n’est présent. Si vous ne configurez pas ce paramètre de stratégie, la recherche sur Windows Update est facultative lors de l’installation d’un périphérique. Consultez également « Désactiver l’invite de recherche de pilotes d’imprimantes Windows Update » dans « Modèles d’administration/Système », qui indique si une confirmation de recherche sur Windows Update est demandée à un administrateur si le pilote n’existe pas localement. Remarque : ce paramètre de stratégie est remplacé par « Spécifier l’ordre de recherche des emplacements sources des pilotes de périphériques » dans « Modèles d’administration/Système/Installation de périphériques » dans les versions plus récentes de Windows.
