Enabling this option determines whether non-PK proxy requests should go directly based on the result of the PK request

Verified with Zoom 7.1.5 — updated on July 12, 2026

Zoom 7.1.5

Supported on: Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later

Path in the GPO console

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Zoom Meetings\Zoom General Settings

Description

Default policy is disabled. If this policy is enabled, and the PK request results in the proxy winning, it will not affect subsequent requests. However, if the PK request results in direct connection winning, all subsequent non-PK requests will use direct connections. If this policy is disabled, client will have no effect. If this policy is not set, client will use the default setting.

Registry

HKLM Software\Policies\Zoom\Zoom Meetings\General

Value name: TryPKRequestDirectFirst

Enabled: TryPKRequestDirectFirst = 1

Disabled: TryPKRequestDirectFirst = 0
