Description
Determines whether Windows Ready Print driver ranking is enabled on this computer. When enabled, Windows will prefer the Microsoft IPP Class Driver for printers that support the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). This applies to both network-connected IPP printers and USB-connected printers that support IPP over USB. If you enable this setting, Windows will prioritize the Microsoft IPP Class Driver during automatic driver selection for eligible printers. If you disable this setting, Windows will use the default driver selection behavior. If you do not configure this setting, the local administrator setting will be used instead. If neither setting is configured, Windows Ready Print driver ranking is enabled by default. Note: This Group Policy setting takes precedence over the local administrator setting. This setting only affects automatic driver selection during initial printer setup. Existing printer installations are not changed. A full uninstall and reinstallation of a printer is required for a change in this setting to take effect. For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2364024.
