Disable warnings based on file extension for specific file types on domains
Verified with Mozilla Firefox v8.2 — updated on September 2, 2026
Supported on: Firefox 102 or later
Path in the GPO console
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox Description
If this policy is enabled, you can define a list of domains and file type extensions that will be exempt from executable warnings. If this policy is disabled or not configured, warnings are shown for all executable file types. For detailed information on creating the policy, see https://firefox-admin-docs.mozilla.org/reference/policies/exemptdomainfiletypepairsfromfiletypedownloadwarnings/.
Registry
Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox Export Builder
BETAConfigure the state, scope and options, then generate .reg, PowerShell, Intune and SCCM outputs — or add the setting to a multi-setting collection.
These exports write the registry — this is not a managed GPO. ⓘ
Applying both scopes creates an ambiguous configuration (computer takes precedence over user). Only do this intentionally.
