Ce paramètre de stratégie détermine si Windows doit assurer le suivi des raccourcis jusqu’à leur source lorsqu’il ne peut pas trouver la cible sur le système de l’ordinateur. Les fichiers de raccourcis contiennent généralement un chemin d’accès absolu vers le fichier cible initial, ainsi que le chemin d’accès relatif vers le fichier cible actif. Lorsque le système ne peut pas trouver le fichier dans le chemin cible en cours, par défaut, il recherche la cible dans le chemin d’accès initial. Si le raccourci a été copié vers un autre ordinateur, le chemin initial peut mener à un ordinateur réseau, y compris des ressources externes, telles qu’un serveur Internet. Si vous activez ce paramètre de stratégie, Windows ne recherche que dans le chemin cible en cours. Il n’effectue pas de recherche du chemin initial même lorsqu’il ne peut pas trouver le fichier cible dans le chemin cible en cours. Si vous désactivez ce paramètre de stratégie ou ne le configurez pas, Windows recherche le chemin initial lorsqu’il ne trouve pas le fichier cible dans le chemin cible en cours.
