Le mode protégé amélioré fournit une protection supplémentaire contre les sites Web malveillants grâce à des processus 64 bits sur des versions 64 bits de Windows. Pour les ordinateurs qui exécutent Windows 8 ou version ultérieure, le mode protégé amélioré limite également les emplacements dans le Registre et dans le système de fichiers auxquels Internet Explorer a accès en lecture. Si vous activez ce paramètre de stratégie, le mode protégé amélioré est activé. Les zones où le mode protégé est activé utilisent le mode protégé amélioré. Les utilisateurs ne peuvent pas désactiver le mode protégé amélioré. Si vous désactivez ce paramètre de stratégie, le mode protégé amélioré est désactivé. Les zones où le mode protégé est activé utilisent la version du mode protégé introduite dans Internet Explorer 7 pour Windows Vista. Si vous ne configurez pas ce paramètre de stratégie, les utilisateurs peuvent activer ou désactiver le mode protégé amélioré sous l’onglet Avancé de la boîte de dialogue Options Internet.
