Ce paramètre de stratégie vous permet de supprimer des programmes du menu Démarrer. Si vous activez ce paramètre de stratégie, les dossiers Panneau de configuration, Imprimantes et Réseau et Connexion sont supprimés des Paramètres dans le menu Démarrer, dans l’élément Poste de travail et dans l’Explorateur de fichiers. Il empêche également l’exécution des programmes représentés par ces dossiers (par exemple Control.exe). Cependant, les utilisateurs peuvent toujours démarrer les éléments du Panneau de configuration en utilisant d’autres méthodes, par exemple en cliquant avec le bouton droit sur le Bureau pour démarrer l’élément Affichage ou sur Poste de travail pour démarrer l’élément Système. Si vous désactivez ce paramètre de stratégie ou si vous ne le configurez pas, les dossiers Panneau de configuration, Imprimantes, Réseau et Connexion de l’élément Paramètres sont disponibles dans le menu Démarrer, dans l’élément Poste de travail et dans l’Explorateur de fichiers. Consultez également les paramètres de stratégie « Désactiver le Panneau de configuration », « Désactiver l’affichage dans le Panneau de configuration » et « Supprimer les Connexions réseau du menu Démarrer ».
