La fonctionnalité d'accessibilité Get Image Descriptions from Google permet aux personnes malvoyantes qui utilisent un lecteur d'écran d'obtenir une description des images sans libellé descriptif sur le Web. Les utilisateurs ayant activé cette fonctionnalité peuvent accéder à des descriptions fournies automatiquement par un service Google anonyme lorsqu'ils rencontrent une image sans libellé descriptif sur le Web. Si cette fonctionnalité est activée, le contenu des images est transmis aux serveurs de Google afin qu'une description puisse être générée. Elle n'envoie aucun cookie ni aucune information sur l'utilisateur. Google n'enregistre pas le contenu des images et n'en conserve aucune trace. Si cette règle est activée, la fonctionnalité Get Image Descriptions from Google est activée. Toutefois, elle ne s'applique qu'aux utilisateurs d'un lecteur d'écran ou d'une autre technologie d'assistance similaire. Si cette règle est désactivée, aucun utilisateur ne peut activer la fonctionnalité. Si elle n'est pas configurée, l'utilisateur peut choisir de recourir ou non à cette fonctionnalité.
